Hi Everyone! I guess I have been neglecting my little blog here since I have started BHD (which be sure to check out daily-boyhowdydaily). I was thinking back at my NY resolutions from last year--which i kept in my phone:

1. run a 5k---i did this is November!

2. run 5-6mi at a time-- which i'm running 5 mi now no problem

3. read more for pleasure (at the time i wrote this i was only reading for school)--which i have read so many books the last 1/2 of this year, i'm so happy about it.

4. meditate--which i tried and failed, but i think i need to try again.

I put at the bottom of the list: continue this list as needed.

2011 resolutions:

1. go to church more often

2. run more 5Ks

3. Meditate

4. spend less money on clothes, work with what i have

5. save save save money

6. continue this list as needed

i hope everyone had a beautiful new years, and i can't wait to see what 2011 holds for us all.

aren't crushes so fun? except when they aren't. that's no fun. but,when you meet someone that just makes your heart kinda jump in your chest...and makes you think about the next time you will see them...that's kinda fun.

last night at my running club, i just finished my run and i was sitting in the place it is held (which happens to be a bar..awesome) by myself reading a book, drinking a beer and eating dinner. So, i dont really know anyone, but I figured it couldn't hurt to just throw myself out there. So, i'm doing these things, and he comes and sits down across from me...and then 4 more people come and sit around me. We introduce ourselves, and start talking (I did put the book away..it was just on my phone..). I thought of Patti (from Millionaire matchmaker...what are her tips). I made eye contact, smiled, acted interested (it helped that this guy was gorgeous). Anyway, it is kinda fun knowing at least there is something to look forward to at running club---oh yea, and the running...and a free beer. running just got a little more fun.

Even when you know a relationship isn't right, why is it so hard to let that person go? Why am I bummed out that I won't see this person for a while, won't make plans with them for a while when I know they aren't the person that I'm supposed to be with? I'm considering starting a health/wellness blog with good articles about what people can do to help themselves in their health and wellness. The second story is an example of something that might go on this dream-blog. I get a ton of articles, info about health and it always inspires me. I put articles around my clinic for people to pick up and read...it would be beter if it were all in one nice blog-format. Idk, I'll have to keep brainstorming.

In other news, I have finally gotten my wish and I'm wearing tights for the first time in months. Yay, now this is fall. It is supposed to be cool all week. The only down side is that I can't play tennis this evening due to the rain, total bummer. But all in all I'm happy with the weather today.

Hello! I am making a quick post...I have my tennis skirt and tennis shoes on and I'm about to head downtown to play in my tennis league. They set up matches every week. It is super fun and scary because I'm not that good..and still getting back into it. I felt like I should just put myself out there and see what happens.

Tomorrow after work I'm leaving to go to Austin,Tx for the Music festival. It is the best time of the year. Live music, cold beer, and great friends. I have packed my bag and I'm ready to go. I have learned from the last 4 years I have been that the less stuff you bring, the better. I used to pack a back pack full of things I might need (blanket, first aid kit, etc)...this year...just the basics. I'm actually carrying it all in a little gap kids back pack purse that I got when I was in the 5th or 6th grade. I have always loved the bag, and I'm excited to use it. I'm taking small camera, hair ties, wallet, ticket, powder, sunscreen, lip gloss, oh and a koozie..can't forget that. yes..that sounds like enough stuff.

I will try to do some post from the fest but service is always so slow due to massive people trying to twitter/facebook update...and me doing it of course.

I had the best weekend. I saw my cousin, Maggie, play soccer yesterday morning. Played some tennis in the afternoon, and then spent the evening eating, drinking, swimming. This morning I went swimming, played tennis, and then watched the premiere of a good show (EB&D). I wish for more weekends like this.

But, I can't wait to see my old friends at ACL in 2 weeks. yes! that is happening.

I just downloaded this new cd, and it is really good. I suggest listening to it. It is so calming.

goodness I can't wait to be surrounded by music. it is really the best time of the year.

Good Morning Loves!

I'm off to work soon. I have 2 charts left on my desk from yesterday to finish up, and I have a whole list of patients to see today. Sounds like a good day to me. Should fly by. This weekend should be fun. I'm going to see my cousin play soccer tomorrow morning, tennis in the afternoon, and then a movie with a friend tomorrow night. What are everyone's plans this weekend?

Hello friends.

I'm sorry I have been distant the past few weeks. Things have been a bit hetic.

I picked up and moved to north houston. I got an apartment on the third floor, and i'm surrounded by trees. it is nice. I met a new friend, and we have seeking new adventures in the city on the weekends. Last weekend we went to Washington Ave (the trendiest place in houston right now), and shared a 1/2 gal. bottle of LA beer (2 of the actually, quite ridiculous). We went to another place in the city I live in this past weekend, and then played some tennis on Sunday.

I met up with a friend of a friend (DB from weatherford) on Thursday for happy hour, which was a blast.

So things have been busy.

I will post some pics of the new place, weekends etc this evening. I'm so happy to have GG back for my Mondays.

I split chicken noodle soup on my silk shirt today. Blast. Good thing I can just wear my lab coat over it. I'm so clumsy.

My wonderful friend Kasey LaCanne (new name) got married this past weekend. It was a really fun time. I'm glad I got to share it with her.

So now the real work starts. I'm working all week, and moving on Saturday to The Woodlands. I hope everything goes ok. I'm ready to be in my own place again with my stuff. It's funny how 2 months ago I didn't know where I was going, and now I'm packing up and moving, and going to a job m-f. Kinda weird how things work out.

Hello everyone!

My mother and I have completed our 2nd day in NYC, and are having a blast. We just got back from Jersey Boys, a broadway play and it was amazing. Seriously wonderful. I highly recommend seeing it if you ever have the chance.

I also made my first purchase here in NYC. I chose these shoes. I'm super excited about them:

i'm overjoyed today. just bursting at the seams with happiness.

today, i passed my state boards to be a Nurse Practitioner. I have been working towards this point in my life for the last 3 years. A lot of stress went into the 2 1/4 hours it took for me to take my 150 question exam. When it was over, the screen said "you have PASSED the test". It was an amazing feeling. It was so fun to run into my parents' house, and have my mom waiting for me to come in to tell her the news.

I'm happy it is over with and I'm ready to start the next chapter of my life as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I love the sound of that.

Kasey and I spent the weekend in San Antonio, TX for a conference. Actually, it was a big 2 1/2 day review course to get us ready to take this test. We stayed one extra night and celebrated Kasey's 28th birthday with her mom.

i'm graduating in exactly 1 month. i have 17 hours left of clinical time and 2 more tests. i can't believe i'm actually coming to the end of my masters degree.

fun times in austin. Monday, the vacation was over and it was time to start back to school and work. My last day @ scott and white in the ICU is Wednesday, and my last day in Temple is next Saturday. I can't believe how time has gone so quickly. I will miss the ICU. It is all I know as a nurse, and it was a really great experience. I'm ready to be in one place. i'm ready for a little time off.
